On May 12, 1975,
  following the American
withdrawal from Southeast Asia, Khmer Rouge Naval Forces seized
the S.S. Mayaguez and her crew of 41, the last American
merchant ship to leave Saigon. An international crisis ensued
and President Gerald Ford initiated a joint Air Force,
Navy and Marine Corps rescue of the crew that ended in tragedy.
Twenty-five years later Henninger Productions returned to Cambodia, to
discover what really happened during what is considered the last American
battle of the Vietnam War.
